BOSSES of Southampton's most exclusive leisure centre go before council chiefs next week after being ordered to shape up in a planning row.
Bosses at David Lloyd in Lordshill were criticised by the city council's planning panel for putting in mud banks and floodlights without permission.
An enforcement notice was served against the centre to have them removed but they have now lodged a fresh planning application to keep the lights and mud banks.
Residents had complained about the lighting poles around tennis courts being left on late at night.
Council cleaners also had to be called to clear dirt from the road that had slipped from the banks.
Councillors have been recommended to approve the application, with conditions.
A report said: "The banks are visually unattractive and are dominant in the street scene.
"This will be reduced in height by 0.5 metres and graded to prevent slippage."
Fourteen residents have objected to the lighting columns and claimed they caused light pollution on their homes.
Conditions will be imposed, restricting their use from 8am to 10pm, if the application is granted.
