FOR the next ten days, you will have the chance to go to a different kind of zoo.

Today is the first day of the Human Zoo, Power FM's endurance test, and live on this morning's Breakfast Show, six contestants moved into the conservatory complex in Whiteley Village Outlet Shopping which will be their home for up to ten days.

The contestants are battling it out for a chance to win £5,000 and a dream holiday but it's not going to be easy.

They not only have to survive living in the public gaze but also have to carry out elimination tasks live on Power FM, with the two contestants with the lowest scores facing a public vote.

Rachel Brookes, Power FM Breakfast Show DJ, has been looking forward to the housemates going into the 'zoo'.

"It's going to be fascinating because we've got people in there 24 hours a day listening to them," she said.

"It will be a learning process as their characters develop on the radio and we learn about who we like and who we don't like," added Power FM Breakfast Show co-presenter Rick Jackson.

But the presenters are glad that they're not going into the 'zoo' themselves.

"I think I would just annoy everyone after a while because I come out with stupid comments a lot of the time," said Rob Crisp, AKA Crispy, from the Power FM Breakfast Show.

"The good thing with the Human Zoo is no one can see you go to the loo or have a shower, so I could cope with it," said Rachel.

"I think I would annoy everybody with my habits," said Rick. "When I don't know people I can be quite shy but once I get to know people I come out of my shell. For the first couple of days I'd probably be really meek and then by the tenth day I'd be very loud and a bit brash and everybody would be 'right - vote him out'."

Tune into Power FM on 103.2 FM and keep reading the Daily Echo to find out how the contestants get on.
