Assistant Salisbury City manager Tommy Killick is praying there will be no repeat of last night's performance when Lymington & New Milton come calling in the FA Cup on Saturday.

After being subjected to a dreadful 1-1 home draw with Burnham in the Dr Martens League Eastern Division, Killick quipped: "If we play like that again, Lymington could afford to put eight players out against us - and that would be seven too many!

"I hope we can't play as badly as that two games in a row. We at least came through with a clean bill of health, but that's about the only positive thing I can say."

It needed an Aaron Turner goal four minutes into stoppage time to pull the Whites out of the mire. He netted a looping far-post header from a cross by fellow substitute Stuart James.

Salisbury had found the net in 25th minute but Matt Tubbs's effort was ruled offside. Burnham responded by taking the lead in the 52nd minute when a 40-yard crossfield pass caught out defender John Purches and Darren Moore raced on to score.

A stunning Kevin Sawyer save from Reece Richardson's header kept Burnham at bay until Salisbury livened up with the introduction of fresh legs. Tubbs went closest when he hit the bar from Gary Funnell's free-kick and substitute Darren Crook headed the rebound over.

l Fleet Town's Hampshire derby against Newport IoW also ended in a 1-1 stalemate at Calthorpe Park.

Craig Leworthy, who has joined Fleet on a month's loan from Havant & Waterlooville, headed the home side into an early lead, but Ashley Wright restored first-half parity with his second goal in two games.

Newport manager Steve Tate summed up: "I'm happy with the way we played, but disappointed with the result. The pleasing thing was that we created lots of openings, but we missed chance after chance. To be fair to Fleet though, they defended superbly."
