BROCKENHURST are so bowled over with former Hampshire cricketer Iain Brunnschweiler that they are trying to get the wicket-keeper turned goalkeeper on contract at Grigg Lane.

The 23-year-old has let in only three goals in five appearances for the fast-improving New Forest club and player-manager Graham Kemp already rates him one of the best keepers in the Sydenhams Wessex League.

He said: "Iain's kicking is not the best, but that will come with time. The rest of his game's outstanding. His handling, shot stopping and the way he comes for crosses is superb. You'd struggle to find a better keeper in the Wessex League.

"I've heard a whisper that Winchester City are interested in him, but we're in negotiations to put Iain on contract."

The Badgers have a tough task on their hands tonight away to Conference giants Aldershot Town in the Hampshire Senior Cup second round (7.45).

It's a tall order for any side, but Kemp is determined to give Terry Brown's cup holders a run for their money. He said: "We'll go up there, try and be professional and give a good account of ourselves. Ninety-nine times out of 100 they'd beat us, but there's always a chance it could be our day."
