The Mavericks, BIC, Bournemouth
TWO encores were not enough last night as The Mavericks stormed into Bournemouth with their infectious brand of music that had the audience literally dancing in the aisles.
Singer Raoul Malo was on fine form and with the rest of the accomplished band, created an atmosphere that made it impossible to stay in your seat.
There was new material - notably the single I Wanna Know - as well as classics such as Just Wanna Dance the Night Away and covers of Van Morrison and the Hollies classics.
They made it all seem effortless and more importantly they really seemed to be enjoying the evening.
Raoul is so sure of his musical talent he can afford to have a bit of fun with his work - even down to singing Puff the Magic Dragon in the style of Roy Orbison.
It was a great evening and when they come to town again, I will make sure I am first in the queue for tickets.
