MORE than 130 young people from three secondary schools in Hampshire took to the stage for a performance with a leading vocal group.
Pupils from the Henry Beaufort School, Perins Community School and Swanmore College of Technology, near Fareham, were involved in the production, alongside professional act Black Voices, at Winchester's Theatre Royal.
It was a once in a lifetime opportunity for the students to perform next to the internationally recognised a cappella singers who specialise in black music passed down through the generations in the traditional aural way.
The production is the penultimate scheme from the Xtend Project, which involved five community organisations working with the youngsters to stage a "new" piece of work.
