Southampton-based marksman Craig McAllister returned to goal-scoring action for Basingstoke Town on Saturday - but it wasn't good enough to give the Camrose Blues a much-needed home win against Kettering.
After sitting out both FA Cup games against Bracknell with a badly bruised calf, McAllister got his name on the scoresheet within 15 minutes of his comeback, heading home his seventh goal of the season from a cross by Matt Warner, who has joined on loan from Wycombe Wanderers.
Stoke, though, could not build on that bright start and, having seen their 'keeper, Scott Tarr, save Craig Norman's tame spot kick early in the second half, they found themselves trailing to goals from Toby Oshitola and Eliot Paschalis.
Another headed effort, this time from defender Jason Bristow, pulled it back to 2-2 with 13 minutes remaining.
That draw leaves Stoke labouring in 16th place ahead of tomorrow night's trip to Hayes.
