A MAN has been questioned by detectives investigating serious sex attacks against two young women in a car in Southampton.
The 28-year-old was arrested after presenting himself at a Southampton police station yesterday. Detectives said he had been released after questioning, pending further police inquiries.
As reported in the Daily Echo, detectives launched an investigation after two women in their 20s were sexually assaulted after accepting a lift from outside a nightclub at Southampton's Leisureworld complex around 2am on Saturday.
The pair told police they had been driven to Hawkeswood Road, just over Northam Bridge, by three men in a blue Vauxhall Astra before being attacked.
Last night, police said they urgently needed to trace the Vauxhall Astra, which had the registration number M376 UUR.
