THOSE pavements are meant for walking on. Last Saturday, I saw a lady trying to negotiate the pavement in Belle Vue Road while driving her electric scooter.
There were two vans across the walkway, so she had to turn around and get onto the road.
Now, this is not easy for someone in a car, let alone on an electric invalid scooter, so please keep the pavements clear.
STREET collectors: This year looks a bit bleak because of the lack of street collectors for the Poppy Appeal.
If you can spare an hour for a house-to-house collection, give me a ring and I can pass your name to John, the Poppy Appeal organiser, or pop your name and telephone number into the British Legion and Dave Hughes will then pass it to John.
PARISH Council: Gillian Noble from The Street looks as though she will be returned unopposed, so there is no need for a by-election.
There is still one vacancy in Lychpit. Call Julie on 462847 and she will fill you in with the details.
WHILE on the subject of parish council matters, the open day and classic car show proved to be a resounding success. About £75 was raised for the charity Wel-Care.
The show was organised by Frith Johnson and her pals.
