CHAS 'N' DAVE return to The Corn Exchange on Thursday, November 20, at 7.45pm for their show Two for the Road.
With songs such as Rabbit, Gertcha, Ain't No Pleasing You and Margate, the pair have secured a place in the nation's heart for more than 25 years.
Brought together by a love of their north London roots and Tottenham Hotspur, Chas Hodges and Dave Peacock were fed-up with English popstars trying to sound American.
The Chas 'n' Dave story started low-key with 1975's One Fing 'n' Anuvver album and, by forming their own Rockney label soon afterwards, they made their music seem more like a hobby than a business!
But anyone who thought they weren't taking it seriously behind the smiles couldn't have been more wrong.
Chas, already with the chart-topping Mike Berry and the Outlaws, and Dave, a respected session bass guitarist, joined forces to make English songs sung with English accents.
In Two for the Road, the pair (pictured) will sing the first half unplugged, with guitars, banjos and anecdotes, and the second will be all the hits and sing-alongs they're best known for.
To buy tickets, priced at £14 (concessions £12), contact The Corn Exchange, Newbury box office on 01635 522733 or visit www.corn exchangenew.com
