CRICKLADE College is kick-starting its free lunchtime concerts and expanding its evening musical events.
Head of music Viv Finer, who was only appointed in April, said: "We are trying to give music a higher profile around the college and around Andover."
Viv has returned to Cricklade after herself studying there, before going on to music college and teacher training.
The Friday lunchtime concerts, starting at 12.15pm, will feature all kinds of music ranging from classical to jazz.
And apart from giving the students much-needed experience, they also give Andover people a sneak preview of what is in store at one of the bigger evening events. The next lunchtime concert will be held on 24 October. On 24 November the music department is presenting what promises to be a very exciting evening of Baroque 'n' Roll.
Viv said: "I will be transcribing the music of Matrix Reloaded into notation form for the students to play on the night." It promises to be an electrifying experience.
On 5 December Any Swing Goes will be black tie.
Lunchtime concerts are free but for more information, and to book tickets for the evening events, contact the box office on 01264 360063.
