CIVIC minded schoolchildren from Outer Shirley who aim to become junior neighbourhood wardens have collected their prizes from Southampton mayor, Councillor Parvin Damani.
The mayor presented the awards to the children who have competed in a competition to design a logo for the junior warden scheme.
Winner Sophie Oak was presented with a mountain bike, and will see her logo emblazoned on the uniforms that are set to be worn by the young people who volunteer to become junior neighbourhood wardens.
The idea to invite children and young people to participate in the neighbourhood warden scheme has been developed and funded by The Southampton West Neighbourhood Partnership to provide more for young people to do in the area.
The junior scheme follows on from the success of the city's 27 official neighbourhood wardens.
