SOUTHAMPTON Trampoline Club's Becki Stanley has bounced back from an horrific injury to win a call-up for Great Britain.

The brave youngster is heading to Germany next week to compete in the World Age Group Games (October 20-24) at over-18 ladies' level.

Stanley will not be alone on her travels. She will be joined in Hanover by her coach Howard Tear, who is one of the GB officials.

The call-up marks an amazing comeback for Southampton girl Stanley who, less than two months ago, dislocated her left elbow at a Grade 1 competition in Southend.

She was out for a month recovering and having intensive physiotherapy and missed out on July's National Finals' where she was favourite to win the over-18 title.

Since then, she has been working hard to rebuild her confidence and has had to relearn some of the complicated skills required at world level.

Coach Tear said: "Becki is almost back to a full recovery and when she trained with the British team recently, she successfully performed a technically difficult routine that was only just below the tariff of her routine at its best. So by October 20 she should be ready to compete at world level."

While Stanley and Tear were busy at Great Britain team training, 20 other Southampton TC members were competing in the Grade 3/4/5 competition at Milton Keynes, led by coaches Sheryl Milbun, Clare Gotts and Sue Stanley.

At Grade 3 level, Amanda Clinnick won the over-18 ladies' age group and Katie Garrett was second in the under-18 category.

Carly Bishop came third in the under-15 girls' Grade 3 competition and there were Grade 4 wins for Steph Bascombe in (over-18 ladies) and Katie Waine (under-18 ladies), qualifying them both to move up to Grade 3.

Katie Sherry marked her first ever competition by taking bonze in the Grade 4 under-18 age-group while another debutante, Megan Passey, came fifth. Southampton won the under-18 team event.

Bethany Martin won the under-13 title and qualified for Grade 3.

Andrew Thompson (under-13 boys) and Adam Gaunt (under-18 boys) won their respective competitions as did the promising Grade 3-bound under-11 girl Jessica Hodgson.

Jade Holes took silver in the under-15 girls' age-group while Samantha Pearson (under-15 girls) and Naomi Phillips (under-18 girls) both finished fourth.
