Gosport jumped up into second place following a 3-0 win over Andover courtesy of goals from Stuart Hensman (2) and Mark Tyron.
Totton, who had started the day second, were held 1-1 at Thatcham.
Graham Kemp continued his fine start to life as Brockenhurst boss with a 1-1 draw at Fareham.
After conceding 33 goals in their opening six games, they have now only conceded 35 in ten.
"We're not just defending for 90 minutes any more," said Kemp.
"The first half in this game was the best we have played since I came back to this club and the players have now got some belief in themselves."
Fareham took the lead in the opening half, but ten minutes into the second period Tomas Frenesson side footed home a deserved equaliser.
A well taken penalty from Ross Edwards, however, ten minutes after the restart put Christchurch back in front.
