Hampshire PGA Patrons chairman David Goodlake holed his seven wood second shot at the 18th hole for a nett albatross to give his team victory in the 31st Patrons Pro-Am at East Horton.
Corhampton clubman Goodlake and his team of Jason Neve (Cams Hall) and Brian Beacham (Lee-on-the-Solent) won on countback from Jon Barnes (Sandford Springs), Brian Young (Alresford) and Bill Mitchell (Bramshaw). Philip Bryden (Tournerbury), John Sneezum (Corhampton) and David Wheeler (Brokenhurst) took third place.
A dozen teams took part in the Pro-Am, organised by former HPGA secretary Jack Wells and his wife Margaret Wells and the proceeds go towards sponsoring next year's Patrons Young Professional Championship at Weybrook Park Golf Club and the Patrons Junior Pro-Am at Dummer Golf Club.
The Patrons of the Hampshire PGA have been sponsoring assistants and juniors since 1973. Information on becoming a member is available from Jack Wells on 023 8081 2252.
