PUPILS at Colden Common Primary School arrived for their lessons weighed down with a small fortune in loose change.
This year's harvest project saw the children collecting more than £100 in silver coins to donate to the Wells for India charity.
Staff hit upon the idea to highlight the importance of water, which they believe is especially apt after the recent sizzling summer.
Each class gathered around a tank of water and counted how many coins it took to fill a teardrop shape on the bottom.
