SOUTHAMPTON is gearing up for two days of fun to mark Family Learning Weekend.
Activities are taking place at a number of different locations across the city, when it is hoped that hundreds of families will join in the fun-filled events.
The weekend is part of a national scheme aimed at giving families time to enjoy learning together. The city has organised its highest number of free activities to date to mark the week.
One of the highlights of the weekend was when the illustrator of youngsters' book Turtle in the Toilet was presented with an award after being voted Southampton's Favourite Book to Share. Toddlers and parents in the city voted for their favourite book during the summer and Caroline Jayne Church's Turtle in the Toilet came out on top.
