Yeh Hai Mumbai Meri Jaan, Nuffield theatre, Southampton
THANKS to the BBC, whose news readers have recently started calling Bombay 'Mumbai', I knew this show would probably be set in Bombay - but I didn't have a clue what else to expect.
What a packed Nuffield theatre got was a community theatre version of West End smash Bombay Dreams - a Bollywood film come to life on stage.
The story of an Indian community threatened by the corrupting influence of an exploitative film producer, is told with the brash humour of an English panto.
Not the most subtle piece of theatre you'll ever see, but definitely entertaining.
