ROCK and roll veterans Showaddywaddy bring their legendary sound to The Corn Exchange, Newbury, on Friday, October 24, at 7.45pm.
Among their 23 top 40 hits and 11 chart-topping albums are their best known numbers, Under The Moon of Love, When, Pretty Little Angel and classics such as Hey Rock and Roll and Three Steps to Heaven.
The band first caught the public's eye in 1973 when their New Faces performance created a "dog-fight" between a number of major labels clamouring to sign them.
Their meteoric rise continued throughout the '80s, resulting in more than 50 Top of the Pops appearances, a one-off TV special commissioned by the BBC and a Royal Variety Performance for the Queen Mother, who asked to meet the band.
Following years of relentless touring, the band went back into the studio in 1995, releasing The One and Only. In May 2002, Showaddywaddy released their 15th album, Hey Rock and Roll, and have vowed to keep going, putting them among Britain's most successful rock bands in history.
Tickets for Showaddywaddy cost £16 and are available from the box office on 01635 522733 or www.cornexchangenew.com
