Trojans, relegated from the top flight after failing to win a single Premier Division game last season, ended their barren run with a 1-0 win at Hounslow & Ealing.
Southampton are flying high after a 4-1 win over Bracknell secured joint top spot in the South League alongside Wimbledon, who crushed Rover Oxford 6-1.
Trojans coach Merijn van Willigen will have been working on short corner routines at this week's training sessions after watching his new charges squander a host of opportunities at Hounslow.
"We were awarded 17 penalty corners and only converted one of them," lamented Trojans manager Louise Carter.

Sarah Gwynn's third - a rasping reverse stick shot after she had waltzed into the D - effectively settled it before half-time.
A stick tackle from behind on Jo Edmondson,which set up Crowley's second penalty conversion, put the final nail in the coffin of Bracknell,whose late consolation goal failed to prevent a third successive defeat.
All conquering Aldershot & Farnham are sitting in their familiar position at the top of Hampshire League, Division 1.
Newly promoted Trojans are among four unbeaten Division 1 teams after a 1-0 win at Gosport - Kerry McCann's first half goal giving the Stoneham girls the points from a none-too-inspiring performance.
Trojans goalkeeper Ros Fogden made several good saves to deny Gosport a draw.
