North Gloucester Motor Cycle Road Race champion Neil Higgs will be the first recipient of the Gavin Lee Memorial Trophy.
Ted Reynolds, one of Lee's biggest fans, walked from Lands End to John O'Groats to raise money to buy the trophy - as well as for the local Rose Road Association Children's Charity.
Reynolds and Lee's widow, Tanya, will present the trophy to Higgs at the North Gloucester Club's annual presentation night in November. Higgs just pipped local rider Pete Thompson, who competes for the T-Sports Racing team, for the title.
Lee, from Netley Abbey, near Southampton, raced successfully in the Isle of Man TT races and the British Championship before losing his life in a short circuit race on the Isle of Man in 1999.
