CHARITY coffee morning: There will be a coffee morning at the community centre to raise awareness of and funds for Angelman Syndrome on Saturday, October 18.
Entrance is free but £1 will buy a coffee and a cake. All proceeds will go to the Angelman Syndrome Support Education and Research Trust.
BEER Festival: The 11th Hatch Warren Beer Festival took place last weekend and again proved a success. As well as a choice of many drinks, festivalgoers were treated to live music and, on Sunday afternoon, children's entertainment and the Hook Eagle Morris Men.
PARKING problems: Last week an officer from the borough council visited Highwood Ridge and Holmes Close to see for themselves what happens to parking in the area during school drop-off and pick-up times. It was confirmed that a staggered rail is to be put in place in Highwood Ridge on the footpath, close to the school, to prevent children running into the road.
VANDALISM: New beat officer WPc Jo Hill will be at the AGM of the community association on Thursday. She will be talking about vandalism and the need for youth work in the area. Local council representatives will also be at the meeting and there will be a chance for the views of local people to be heard on the subject. The AGM starts at 7.30pm at the community centre.
NEIGHBOURCARE quiz: The NeighbourCare quiz returns to Hatch Warren on Saturday, November 15, at Hatch Warren Junior School. Teams of up to six may enter, and the ticket price of £7 includes supper. Call Dave or Kay Elliot on 819336 to register a team.
