DEANIE represents England: A drawing by Deanie Hounsome of Blencathra, Ellisfield Green, is part of an exhibition touring European capitals throughout 2003. Her picture was just one of two chosen from 1,300 submitted.
Jenny Carpenter, Deanie's art tutor at the Phoenix Centre in Bordon, says: "Deanie is extremely observant and has an amazing visual memory. She has a wonderful talent for capturing the image she sees. The way she draws is very sophisticated and there's a beautiful quality to her drawings."
A MUSIC student from King's College, London, played the organ for St Martin's Harvest Festival last Sunday. And - shock horror - as the large congregation entered the church, he was wearing a baseball cap - backwards! Mercifully, Chris Kippin, now a mature student, took the cap off when the service began.
MATHS teachers: The country's very short of qualified maths teachers but there are two in the Kippin family. Daughter Eleanor has followed Heather and is now at West Byfleet, loving teaching.
MOTORCYCLE accidents: I'm still waiting for the latest statistics, but preliminary indications are that John Fox and I are wrong - the most vulnerable age group appears to be men in their 30s.
