The Senior Cup surprise of the day saw BAT crash 3-2 at Hampshire Leaguers Ringwood.
"I'm afraid we were second best today and fair play to Ringwood they deserved it," rued BAT boss Andy Leader. "The one good thing was that we didn't pick up any bookings!"
Ringwood boss Bob Lane admitted: "We were in charge for virtually the whole game and BAT's late second goal gives the impression the game was tight - which it wasn't."
Steve Eyles gave the Tobaccomen a first-half lead but by the time Paul West had notched a late second his team were 3-1 down.
Brian Rolfe cancelled out BAT's first-half opener right on the stroke of half-time, while Alan Orr's penalty - awarded for a foul on Dan Greaves - put Ringwood ahead.
Sub Steve Trebilco made it 3-1.
Lymington Town substitute Billy Stride scored a second-half winner to send previously unbeaten VT FC crashing out.
Stride's looping left-hand-side cross sealed a 1-0 win for Lymington and clinched a mouth-watering second round home tie against DML outfit Newport.
Reduced to ten men when Robbie Walker was sent off, Lymington suffered another setback when Danny Adams was injured.
VT created - and missed - a host of chances after Stride's winner and, as frustration grew, Mickie Moffatt was sent off for a second bookable offence.
Andy Barker hit Bishop Waltham Town's 3-2 winner against East Cowes Vics just 90 seconds from the end of extra-time.
The sides, locked 2-2 in normal time, were contemplating a shoot-out when Barker cracked in the decider from just inside the box.
Bishop's thought they had won after forging a 2-0 lead early in the second half through Jamie Sims and Andy Davis.
But East Cowes hit back through Mark Watson and later equalised when Darren Plenty got the decisive touch in a goalmouth melee.
Both goalkeepers made fine saves in extra-time before Barker blasted home Bishop's winner.
Fawley gave it away late on and went down 4-2 to Horndean.
They took the lead through Luke Atkinson and, after Horndean had gone 2-1 up, got back on level terms with a Simon Davidson effort.
