AS UNLIKELY as it may sound the Hampshire village of Titchfield could soon become a firm favourite on the celebrity circuit after plans for an exclusive members' club were unveiled.
Already lined up to pay the residents of the village a visit is glamour model Jordan, pictured, pin-up favourite Catalina and presenter Suzy Perry.
They are to be delivered via helicopter for the opening night of what is billed to be one of the most exclusive members-only clubs on the south coast.
Behind the venture is Mark Fuller, the London club entrepreneur who has already made successes of celebrity hangouts including Sugar Reef and the Red Cube in London's trendiest districts.
Now his sights are firmly set on a Grade II listed farmhouse on Whiteley Lane in Titchfield that is currently being restored and transformed into The Radcliffe.
For up to £2,000 a year members will have full use of the plush facilities including dining in style with cuisine prepared by Michelin starred chef Garry Hollihead, private cinema facilities, members' bar and lounge and a personal chauffeur service.
A spokesman for the project said: "As soon as Mr Fuller saw the building he knew the potential of it. There isn't anything else in the area that offers this type of exclusive venue and that combined with the high quality restaurant and a golf course nearby, we are confident The Radcliffe will be a success."
But is Titchfield ready to become part of the showbiz circuit? The most famous son of the village had been The 3rd Earl of Southampton, pictured left, patron and friend of William Shakespeare, but that could be eclipsed by the crowd expected to frequent The Radcliffe.
Local resident Cliff Moorhouse, 23, said: "I wouldn't say no to welcoming Jordan down here. It is certainly something that would wake the place up a bit."
Villager Gordon Davies said: "I am sure they will be made to feel very welcome, provided they all behave themselves."
The guest list for the opening night next month also includes actor Gary Lucy, of Hollyoaks fame, newsreader Krishnan Guru Murthy, model Sophie Anderton and Southampton players of past and present.
