Team talks at two clubs separated by just three miles across the River Test will be very similar tomorrow afternoon in London Divisions Three and Four South-West.
For Tottonians and Romsey, both bottom of their respective leagues and facing games against sides in equally perilous positions, coaches and captains will be placing everything on their players to bring home the goods.
Totts welcome a side with a virtually identical record to themselves in Surrey-based outfit Chobham in that they have scored just 15 points in their two games - the home side have posted 11 from the opening fixture with Alton.
Skipper Miles Northover attempts to shuffle his cards once again in an attempt to try something different as they look for the right combination with teenage winger Richard Buck moving to centre to accommodate Dave Lamb. Aaron Nelson drops to the bench.
Kev Barrett is preferred to Tom Pearson in the front row as is Clive Wilkes in the back row. "Things were not quite working out so we just want to try another couple of combinations to see if we can find our feet," said a buoyant Northover. "We need to get the backs working."
It is much the same at Romsey, who have lost the majority of their back line that saw them to promotion from Hampshire One and are not the same side for it, but they put themselves on the line at winless Petersfield.
Just Darren Sharpe and Nick Crosby have survived the cull as Nick Roach has retired, Adam Trotman has moved to Cardiff, Richard Dollimore is now playing for Isle of Wight and Ben Terrell and Phil Heaven are both unavailable so an inexperienced backline is thrust into the Penns Place cauldron.
The forwards are at full strength with the return of Richard Samuel an important inclusion.
Southampton are on their travels but are not sure what to expect at relegated Dorking, a side they have never met but their victory over Old Emanuel has given them a positive attitude to claim their first long-distance away win in nearly two years.
However, injuries to winger Alex Scott and centre James Wolfe have ruled them out, allowing Sam Gordon and Dave Ward places while Alan Butler comes into the back row.
