HAYLEY Pointer was the star performer for the New Forest Juniors in their first ever sortie into the South of England Road Relays at Aldershot.
The youngster recorded the day's fourth fastest individual run of ten minutes and 53 seconds to place third in first leg of the under-15 girls' race.
Teammates Charlotte Bates and Shelley Longden followed with times of 13.07 and 14.25 respectively to bring the team home in 34th place out of 54.
NFJ's under-13 girls were 41st out of 59, thanks to Lucy Wainwright (9.56), Rachael Smallwood (10.17) and Becky Knell (9.48), while in the under-17 women's race the Foresters came 16th out of 27 with solid performances from Charlotte Marsden (12.06), Jade Davies (12.18) and Laura Pankhurst (12.45).
