Barry Blankley's first match in charge of table-topping AFC Totton ended with a shock 5-3 defeat by Hamble ASSC at Follands Park.
The only disappointment for Planemakers' manager Larry Clay was that he wasn't there to see it. He was kept away by a works AGM, leaving reserve boss Shaun Coles in charge.
Blankley, who was named as John Robson's successor last Friday, could not have asked for a better start as his former Bashley charge Chris Marwood put Totton 1-0 up in the first minute.
But by the 77th minute the Stags were 5-1 down thanks to a Robbie Cox hat-trick sandwiched between singles from Craig Rickman and Steve Whitcher.
Two goals in the last two minutes from Martin Whiddett and Mark Osman were too little too late.
