Hampshire's Daniel Welch took the driver of the day award in the final Formula Renault Championship event of the season at Oulton Park.
After putting his car 18th on the grid in a rain-affected qualifying session, the 21-year-old Fleet driver made up seven places on the first lap and eventually worked his way through the field to finish in sixth place.
The Renault Championship was won by Manor Motorsport's Lewis Hamilton with Welsh finishing back in 22nd place.
