Winchester City fielded three goalkeepers during their dramatic 2-1 injury-time FA Cup second qualifying round defeat at Dr Martens Premier Division side Chippenham Town.

City lost their first choice keeper Darren Crowfoot in first-half stoppage time and then lost his replacement Ollie Rastall two minutes from normal time with a suspected broken collarbone.

Winger Shaun Dyke donned the cursed keeper's jersey but was powerless to stop the Wiltshire outfit from snatching victory some seven minutes into injury time when Martin Paul headed home a Simon Charity cross.

The day had started so well for the Sydenham Wessex League new-boys who had taken an 11th-minute lead through Andy Forbes who sustained concussion in a clash of heads with Town's Tom Gould and had to be substituted.

"That was probably the turning point of the match as we didn't really create much by way of chances after that," sighed City secretary Ray Murphy,

On 58 minutes, Adie Mings headed in from Ian Davies' centre but was then sent off eleven minutes into stoppage time after tangling with Danny Smith.

No shortage of incident at Cirencester either where the final whistle in their FA Cup clash with the Dr Martens Western Division outfit didn't finish until 5.40pm.

That was mainly due to Cirencester's Gary Wootton who collapsed after colliding with a teammate and had to be rushed to hospital by air ambulance causing the tie to be held up for 40 minutes.

After falling behind in the first minute, Andover roared back to equalise on 10 minutes when Sam Rae's effort hit the post and Justin Bennett reacted first to put away the loose ball.

Cirencester regained the lead on 70 minutes just before Andover had Glen Damon red-carded for a second bookable offence. The home side added a third before the ten men pulled one back through Rae five minutes from time.

Wimborne Town also bowed out 3-0 at Dr Martens Western Division Mangotsfield where injuries forced Magpies' manager Paul Arnold to field two 16-year-old strikers in Matt Stainer and Warren Doyle.

"We had lots of injuries but I wouldn't use that as an excuse," shrugged Arnold. "Although our lads worked very hard, they just had a little bit extra than us and it showed in the end."

Those defeats mean that Lymington & New Milton have been left to fly the Sydenhams Wessex League flag in today's third qualifying round draw following their 8-2 demolition of Clevedon United at Fawcetts Field.

Linnets' boss Ian Robinson said: "I was expecting a much tougher game but it was a very comfortable victory for us.

"I was very pleased with our performance and the fact that we keep going in the second half and stuck five more goals in. It's very rewarding for the whole club and the supporters."

First-half strikes by Warren Kenna, Paddy James and Phil Stone put the home side in control and they added further goals through Paddy James, Trevor Smith and Kevin James before Clevedon found the net.

Paddy James duly completed his hat-trick and Kevin James notched his second and the Linnets' eighth with Clevedon having the last word.
