While the clubs above them in the Sydenhams Wessex League were drawing, Fareham closed the gap with a 2-0 home success against Thatcham Town .
Top-gun Jamie Musselwhite grabbed both goals but missed out on a hat-trick when he blazed a second spot-kick wide of the target. Musselwhite struck on the hour following a handball in the area before netting with a header from Lloyd Mitchell's cross in the last ten minutes.
"I'm very pleased with the win and we're going OK at the moment," said Fareham manager Jon Gittens. "The players are working hard and winning which in turn is bolstering their confidence but we must not get complacent.
