THE Riders have spent most of their summer on tour, promoting the release of their new album Too Close To See Far.
Wholly written and produced by the band, it has been lauded across the board by the press.
Their music has been described as "undeniably gorgeous" and "gentle, happy-sad songs that sound like summer". A new single from the album, Justify The Rain, has just been released.
The Glasgow quartet formed back in 1998 and released a couple of albums on their own label, recorded in a community-funded studio. They then landed a deal with Poptones Records, the newly formed label of ex-Creation's boss Alan McGee.
Although they carry the guitar-based indie tag, their comparisons suggest a broader, perhaps more mature appeal, spanning the Beach Boys, The Byrds and Travis.
Support is from Jeff Klein.
