HE'S one of football's hottest properties. Now Saints hotshot James Beattie is taking the first steps to becoming a TV star too.

The sharp shooter has begun filming his own television show alongside sexy Hollyoaks actress Terri Dwyer.

Beattie and Dwyer will be the high-profile hosts for a new men's lifestyle magazine show to be screened on the satellite channel Bravo from November.

Recording has already begun on a pilot for Beattie's exciting new project, which is expected to run for 15 programmes.

The 25-year-old told the Daily Echo: "It's something different and something I'm really enjoying. We've already filmed two shows and it's a great experience.

"I've been in front of the cameras before for interviews, but it's a bit different doing the presenting and reading the autocues.

"The show is basically about lifestyle and promotes good health and fitness."

Beattie, who is currently the Premiership's leading marksman with six goals already this season, is also being followed by a Sky camera crew for a documentary charting a year in the life of one of English football's biggest stars.

"The documentary is also good," he said. "They basically come and follow me for a couple of days each month. If I'm doing something a bit different I give them a call.

"We went to the boat show last week, we've been coaching children football at Bevois Town Primary School this week and they came around my house the other week - it's good fun."

Beattie's rise to national stardom has been meteoric in the last year. His on-pitch ability, charm and good looks have seen him become one of the most recognisable and in-demand young sportsmen.
