FAMILIES are being invited to discover the power of drawing in The Big Draw campaign, which has free workshops taking place at Andover Museum on 18 October.
The Big Draw is an annual event which was launched as part of the Campaign for Drawing in 2000.
It aims to remind people of the joys of drawing, and to highlight the skills which it can help to develop - from observation and communication, to creativity.
The workshops have been organised by Hampshire County Council's museums and archives service and are taking place across the county.
Participants will work alongside professional artists, learn more about where they get their ideas from, and in many cases will be able to explore the museum's collections first hand to 'draw' inspiration for their own works of art.
Author and illustrator Jonathan Allen will lead workshops with a natural history theme at Andover Museum at 10.30am and 1pm on 18 October, giving families the chance to transfer their natural talents onto paper.
