IT'S probably every errant school pupil's dream - the chance to drop their headmaster right in the manure.

And the opportunity has been presented on a plate to students at Eastleigh's Crestwood Community School.

For the Boyatt Wood school is staging a sponsored walk - dubbed The Tiger Enterprise Walk - at Marwell Zoo near Winchester to raise funds for its bid to become a specialist business and enterprise campus.

Sponsored walkers will get free entry to Marwell and those collecting the highest amounts of money will get to feed the giraffes and penguins.

But if that wasn't enough, if the fundraising goes through a set target some of the teachers - including school head Phil Munday and deputy head David Andrews - will have the honour of cleaning out the rhinoceros den!

"The figure hasn't been set yet - but I have a nasty feeling that we will end up shovelling anyway," said good sport Mr Munday.

The sponsored walk at 10am next Saturday has been organised by the Friends of Crestwood School Committee with a great deal of help from Gordon Campbell who works at Marwell and whose son and daughter attend Crestwood.

Now, family, friends and neighbours are being urged to help the students and teachers raise as much money as possible from the event.

Mr Munday said: "It is really important for us to raise as much as we can towards our goal of £50,000 which is the amount the Department for Education stipulates we must have to support our application. We are extremely grateful to the group of parents who have worked hard to arrange this and other fundraising events."
