FOREST Arts Centre in New Milton is forming a new adult community choir for people in the New Forest area.
Membership of the choir is open to both experienced singers and those with no experience but who would like to try singing, and who would enjoy the challenge of trying something modern music as opposed to the traditional.
The first meeting of the choir takes place on Tuesday, September 23, from 7-9pm, and will be led by freelance musician and composer Karin Wimhurst.
No previous experience of singing in a choir is required, nor is the ability to read music.
Through the course, singers will draw on a variety of well-known songs and world music, as well as some unique compositions written by Karin, and will also have the opportunity to choose the music.
There is a course fee for joining the choir, but anyone wishing to do so can go along for a trial first session free of charge.
The normal fee will be £40 for a ten-week term, or £30 for concessions.
Further details are available from Forest Arts Centre on 01425 612393.
