Hampshire student Jon Dee is one step closer to becoming a national Peugeot 206 Winter Cup rally driver after his notable performance during the first round of the ProSpeed Motorsport Rally Scholarship.
He impressed instructors on both tarmac and gravel and has been invited back to the second round to prove himself again.
During 2003, ProSpeed Motorsport are going to search out a new potential rally superstar.
They are looking for drivers, no past experience necessary, to prove themselves a worthy winner of a fabulous prize in motorsport.
The scholarship winner will be pampered by ProSpeed Motorsport's 2002 British Championship class winning team during the three events of the Peugeot 206 Winter Cup of 2003/4, while he or she will pilot a fully prepared group 'A' 206 Rally Car.
The scholarship is divided into three separate rounds. The first round consisted of an introduction to driving techniques in the classroom, followed by a long period of instruction and assessment on both gravel and tarmac, driving VW Golf GTIs and Peugeot 206s.
