STAFF and children at Southampton's Rose Road Association were in for a treat when they were presented with a special cake - in the shape of a pug dog.
The cake was originally given by friends to Pug Club of Great Britain member Margie Woodward, of Winchester Road, Romsey, on her 50th birthday.
But Margie, who is also a campaign officer for disability charity Scope, said she couldn't bear to eat it because it reminded her of her own beloved dogs.
Along with fellow Scope field worker Nigel Marsh, also an honorary officer for the Pug Club, she came up with the idea to give it away.
Margie, who has three pug dogs - Victor, Baby and Rosie - said: "It is a beautiful cake and I loved it but I couldn't eat it because it would be like eating one of my own.
"We thought I could give it to the children instead to enjoy it."
The cake was given to the eager recipients at the Rose Road Association, which also works with people with disabilities, at the Bradbury Centre, Aldermoor Road, on Wednesday.
Louise Sarton, fundraising manager for Rose Road, said: "It is great that Margie thought of us and we are pleased we can work together with Scope to raise awareness for disabled people. The cake was very well received by the children."
