Hampshire Open champion Mark Treleaven kept his woods in the bag and only used irons for the Army Pro-Am, and it was a bold move which paid off as he shared victory with former tournament professional Glen Ralph.
Both men carded five-under 66s in the Classic Windows sponsored event, the most lucrative pro-am on this year's Hampshire calendar.
It capped a great spell for Hayling Islander Treleaven during which he won the Skandia Hampshire Open, won at Chilworth and finished fourth at Weybrook Park.
Third place at The Army went to Tidworth Garrison trainee Charlie Gold, who pocketed the largest cheque of his fledgling professional career with a 67.
