CROWDS watched knights joust on the very spot where 600 years ago Henry V prepared his troops for the battle of Agincourt.

Portchester Castle was transported back in time for a day of medieval fun with an educational aspect.

Medieval characters mingled with visitors who could watch displays of weaponry and sample medieval food.

Archers gave lessons in how to shoot a bow properly and, inside tents, displays of armour were on show.

In 1415, Henry V rallied his troops in Portchester Castle before victory at the infamous battle of Agincourt.

Visitor John Edgar said: "It's amazing to think that those troops were here in this very spot hundreds of years ago."
