ICED fairy cakes with cherries on top might be more synonymous with the Women's Institute than calendars of its naked members.
But the two went hand in hand at The Screen in Winchester when actress Celia Imrie dropped in to mark the opening of the film Calendar Girls.
She stars alongside Helen Mirren and Julie Walters in the film, based on the true story of a group of Yorkshire women who pose nude in an alternative Women's Institute calendar.
Not only did the real-life calendar hit the headlines when it was launched in 1998 but it also raised £628,000 for the Leukaemia Research Fund.
Celia was only too happy to stop by in Winchester on her tour as it brought back fond memories of visiting her old nanny who lived in the city years ago.
The Dinnerladies star said she was extremely pleased to have been involved in the film.
"It was fantastic filming it and I am really glad to have been part of it. It was so much fun being part of a brilliant team."
