A REPLICA of a world-record beating, crystal decorated, giant tassel has been on show at a Hampshire children's hospice.
Measuring more than half-a-metre in length and worth approximately £4,000, the tassel was taken to Naomi House in Sutton Scotney, near Winchester, so the youngsters could get a close look at the decorative object.
The tassel will be sold at a star-studded auction in Chelsea later this month, along with a wealth of other interior design "jewels'', to raise money for the hospice, which offers care for youngsters with life-limiting diseases.
The real record-breaking tassel, at over four-metres tall and worth more than £30,000, was just too expensive to move from the Decorex exhibition being staged in London. Designed by interior design firm Spina, and made by Wendy Cushing Trimmings, the tassel has been made from black and gold silk interwoven with more than 8,000 Swarovski crystals.
