NEVER mind The Darkness. If it's glam rock revival you're after, look no further than T-Rextasy.
Led by the irrepressible Danielz, the world's best known Marc Bolan and T Rex tribute band have been paying faithful homage to the curly-haired king of glam for more than a decade - and all without the aid of a single wig.
The experienced musicians pride themselves on their authentic recreation of Bolan's repertoire of era-defining anthems, including such set list staples as Metal Guru, Jeepster, Telegram Sam, Children of the Revolution, Ride a White Swan and I Love To Boogie - the latter used to wonderful effect on the soundtrack of Billy Elliot.
Hero to a generation, Bolan and his band scored an impressive 11 top ten singles between 1970 and 1973.
Bolan's career was cut tragically short in 1977 when he died a couple of weeks short of his 30th birthday in a car crash.
"No one can ever take Marc's place. No one would ever be that nave," says Danielz, who formerly fronted his own rock band, Tarazara.
12 September, The Brook, Southampton. Tickets: £8. Box office: 023 8055 5366.
