Ellingham & Ringwood take on promoted Overton in their opening Hampshire Division Two game as they look to go one better than last season, having narrowly missed promotion on points difference behind Fawley.
And they have strengthened their squad in an effort to produce the goods, recruiting fly-half Andy Weeks from Bournemouth and East Dorset pair Matt Balchin and Matthew Sturgess to join new captain Simon Haines in their bid.
However, Overton will be keen to stamp their style of North Hampshire rugby on the division, having yo-yoed between the divisions over the past couple of seasons.
Fordingbridge were fortunate not to dive the other way last season, finishing just above the relegation zone but they are rebuilding and have included youngster Dave Barnett, a centre having developed through the clubs youth system, for the trip to Nomads.
Nomads, who have done some rebuilding both on and off the field in finding themselves a permanent home, are likely to be challenging for a quick return to Hampshire One this season.
Hamble are due to be at home to Alresford but club captain George Winch continues to work hard to get a side together to fulfil the fixture. If you are interested in playing a good quality standard of rugby, contact George on 07711 340741.
In Hampshire Division Three, Ventnor have kept most of their players despite their relegation and should be favourites for promotion although Paxton Pumas are growing and could be a contender.
