MORE than 200 people gathered at Chilbolton Airfield in Stonefield Park in remembrance of those in the airborne forces who gave their lives during the Second World War.
Every year war veterans commemorate those that left from Chilbolton Airfield to serve in the war.
This year members of the Parachute Regiment and Airborne Forces Association, the Royal British Legion, the RAF Association and the Royal Hampshire Old Comrades Association were lead by a piper to the service of remembrance.
"The service was absolutely perfect," said John Haw, who served in the Parachute Regiment. "The priest said it gets larger and larger every year. They come from far and wide. "What was so important was that the scouts, cubs and beavers were there," he said.
The Rev Errol Williams led the service and the Amesbury Town Band provided the music.
