Hampshire racing driver Sam Hancock took the wheel of a 1950s Lotus X1 at Goodwood's Revival meet last weekend.
Next Saturday, at one of motorsport's great venues - Monza - he'll make his last outing for the Jordan Grand Prix junior team in which he's already made an impression.
For the ex-Formula Audi campaigner from Basingstoke who won the rookie of the year award in the FIA Sports Car Championship last year, it will be his third drive in European Formula 3000 Championship.
Last time out, Hancock put in his best performance yet at the Hungaroring - losing the feeling in his arms during the race!
The problem was caused by his carbon fibre safety collar and his seat belts but Hancock still managed to climb to ninth in the race before he had to back off and finish 11th.
He goes to Monza looking to chalk up his best result, explaining: "I've driven there before, so it will be a relief to go into practice thinking about the set up of the car rather than having to learn a completely new circuit.
"We should have those discomfort problems solved, so hopefully I can really start to show people what I can do without any distractions."
