NETLEY has lost its public boat-users' access to Southampton Water.
Hound Parish Council was forced to call time on the traditional mooring site at Beach Lane after it was sold by Southern Water.
The last public waterfront facility in the parish - which provided a home for about 50 boats - has been consigned to history.
Hound Parish Council clerk Sue Hobbs said: "The boat compound belonged to Southern Water who sold it to a private owner at the beginning of the year.
"We were given notice to quit. We are clearing what remains on site. We have to be out by October 3."
