THE man currently challenging Daniel O'Donnell as the king of Irish crooners shows us what he is made of in Fareham this week.

Dominic Kirwan returns for the fifth year running to Ferneham Hall, bringing with him special guest Loretta O'Sullivan.

The Omagh-born singer boasts a relaxed, country-tinged style and charming stage presence which has won the devotion of thousands of female music fans.

The 43-year-old singer began early, taking up singing and Irish dancing at the age of four. By the time he was 18, he was fronting his own band The Melody Boys. It was to be another ten years before he recorded his debut solo album The Green Fields of Ireland.

In recent years, Dominic has toured relentlessly worldwide, and now has a growing following in Australia.

Dominic's guest, Loretta O'Sullivan, is a former Stars in Their Eyes winner, whose impersonation of country star Patsy Cline won her a place in the grand final.

Since then she has written and performed her own songs and released a single.

You can see Dominic and Loretta at Ferneham Hall, Fareham on Thursday at 8pm. Tickets cost £13.
