IT MAY look like Halloween has come early for staff at Odeon cinema in Southampton - but they haven't got their dates wrong.

Workers decided to "go green" in celebration of the release of latest summer blockbuster Hulk.

In the movie, Eric Bana stars as Dr Bruce Banner, a mild-mannered scientist who gains the ability to transform into the Hulk after an experiment takes a turn for the worst.

Staff at Leisure World jumped at the chance to pay homage to the classic comic-book character who began life in a Marvel Comics series during the 60s.

Despite having to remain in uniform, staff didn't think twice about slapping on the make-up.

Luckily for cinema bosses, the Hulk lookalikes didn't scare off audiences - and the decision to "go green" certainly kept customers intrigued.

"We wanted to create a great atmosphere for the weekend, getting as many customers involved as we could," said marketing co-ordinator Sarah Hildyard.

The green-themed fun doesn't stop there. The Odeon is hoping to supply superhero fans with specially made green popcorn.
