UNSTOPPABLE Southampton singing sensation Craig David, pictured, has begun 2001 as he finished last year - with a nomination for another top award. (10/1/01)
Craig and fellow Southampton chart-topper Artful Dodger have both been nominated in the prestigious NME Carling Awards, announced yesterday.
Craig is up against top acts such as Destiny's Child, Macy Gray, Kelis and Superbabes for best R&B/Soul Act, while Artful Dodger will battle against Fat Boy Slim, Moby, Sonique and Underworld for Best Dance Act.
Last year was memorable for 19-year-old Craig. In his first year in the music business he picked up three prizes at the prestigious Mobo Awards.
He also made history with "Fill Me In", becoming at the tender age of 18, the youngest British male solo artist to get to number one.
Other artists up for awards include American rapper Eminem, rock legends Oasis and newcomers Coldplay.
The ceromony takes place on February 6 in Shoreditch, London.
